Holly Soukup’s approach to her art is straightforward; she paints what speaks to
her soul and that which her soul must speak.  In determining the direction for a
new work of art, her artist style keys in on the subject matter and mood she aims
to convey, a technique that allows Holly to purposefully explore various media
in an effort to keep her creative process invigorated.

Ironically, invigoration also comes from her work as an art instructor, for it is the
synergetic relationship of two professions that stretches her to explore new
techniques, media, and ideas.  Pair that with her passion for vibrant color, and
Holly’s innovative art not only boasts various media and styles, but also
indicates she is a bona-fide colorist at heart.

When she isn’t creating art of her own, Holly inspires blooming artists in private
and group art instruction in various media both at her home studio and in Ashe
and Watauga County locations.  She also conducts weekly acrylic painting
classes at Michael’s Arts and Crafts in Boone, NC.

Holly’s artwork has received awards in numerous international, national and
local juried exhibitions, and her art can be found in private, public and corporate
collections throughout the southern United States.
